This is a sort of dramatic monologue in which the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan is much engrossed in the deep thoughts pondering over the past occurrences. There are several questions that are asked about Shah Jahan and Taj Mahal such as what happened to Shah Jahan after he built the Taj Mahal<\/strong> <\/a>or where he died or how many wives he had and so on.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This scene is created in the Musamman Burj of the Agra Fort at the time of sunset which you can visit during your Agra tour<\/a><\/strong> alongwith your tour giuide<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Who was with Shah Jahan at the time?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He is in the state of moroseness and morbidity. As a devout Muslim, he still has the hopes in mighty Allah and his justice. He is much bereaved on the loss of his consort, his confinement and losing the touch with his subjects.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

O aah Who I am and for what?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I am the descendant of the mighty Mughals,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My ancestors played a vital role in strengthening the empire,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And like other humans punished to dust<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Leaving a large legacy, a legacy of power and pelf.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As an innocent child, I was well contented with my lot,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Blissed with the company of grandpa Jalal,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In the youth, I saw the riches swaying.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And with my soaring ambitions led the camps<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thwarting the enemies with my shamsheer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The gem of Mirzas-my Mumtaj knocked at the gate of my heart.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pumped me with courage and discreet.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A true lover, companion and better judge<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0I always found in her.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Where are you, my Mumtaj? MUM- AB MUM-AB<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You anon left my throne heart leaving me alone.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My MUM\u2013 AB, AB, AB.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Leave me alone\u2014aloof<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The departure of the servant remains alone<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My mumtaj<\/strong><\/a>, my mumtaj<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You bore me children, support of future like a cane<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For this day- the days of house arrest and bondage!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0You consider yourself brave and savior of the common folk<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Slaining the philosophy and Sufism of Dara.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Murad and Shuja are gone, leaving you the throne.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You the snatcher of liberty, rosary and water.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

From the feeble father<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

May God give you the right conscience to rule my subjects.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

So that no one can rebuke the Master.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dejected I live with a ray of hope!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Feeble I am hoping to appear in Jharokha.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But Alas! One ethereal support I lost, losing you Arujmand<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Leaving only in your darling Ara.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This help in communion with my prayers keeps me alive<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Perturbed I am, whom to the complaint or where to move,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When others I see involved in the routine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Smiley, they are and seek life pleasures.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I sit on my couch with the view of Taj and stick in hand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My beard turning white overnight and with a dwindling might.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0I feel the numbness, Calm and chill<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With the cheeks of the owl’s Indication of the eternal sleep<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And waiting for the doomsday to settle the issues.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let peace rest and the subject’s smile<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
