Connaught Place History & architecture: - The construction of the market complex started in year 1929 and it was completed in year 1933. The name of the market was named after duke of Cannaught who was a close relative of the British royalty. First Smog Tower of India in Connaught Place: - Thus is growing concern of pollution in Delhi which is caused by different factors such as construction work, traffic and Parali in the neighboring states. To cope with the smog which becomes a grave problem in December and January, the government of Delhi planned for installing smog Towers in the National capital. In this line the first smog tower of India was made in Connaught Place New Delhi. It was immigrated by the Chief Minister of Delhi at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in C.P.
